Information for Authors Keyboard Perspectives welcomes scholarly articles of approximately 5,000 words
pertaining to the music and culture of the keyboard. Potential fields of
inquiry include (but are not limited to): performance practice, the analysis
and interpretation of keyboard music, the restoration of historical
instruments, technologies of the keyboard and the function of keyboard music in
larger social and cultural contexts; of special interest, additionally, are
interdisciplinary studies incorporating art, literature, and other fields of
inquiry. While the orientation of the journal is “historical,” its scope is by
no means restricted to the music or instruments of the distant past: 20th–
and 21st –century topics are strongly encouraged. The journal seeks
to represent the whole spectrum of keyboard instruments, including clavichord,
harpsichord, organ, fortepiano, modern piano, as well as lesser-known keyed
instruments. The goal of the journal is to foster a rich and lively forum for
scholars, performers, instrument-builders and amateurs of the keyboard.
